Not just aimed at those with an interest in media the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television is an exceptional place and deservedly popular. The museum has a great range of photographic displays and interactive exhibits where you can try your hand at being a newsreader, and it even has its own IMAX cinema.
Another of Bradford’s great attractions is the Bradford Industrial Museum. This museum in the form of an old mill gives a clear insight into the area’s woollen industry as it was in Victorian Times.
For a museum with a difference, check out the Colour Museum in Perkin House on Providence Street. It’s the only colour museum in Europe and gives its visitors the chance to learn about the effect of light and colour including some clever optical illusions.
Bolling Hall is a wonderful example of a 17th century Yorkshire manor house. Highlights of the house include its galleried hall, heraldic glass and plenty of antique furniture including a rare Chippendale bed.
Art lovers visiting the area should make for the Cartwright Hall Art Gallery. This glorious building was built back in 1904 in the decadent Baroque style making it worthy of a visit in its own right. However, it’s the artwork that people really come to see in the form of mainly 19th and 20th century British masterpieces
